So, I'm back.  For any of you who actually still use this, you're all going to get a surprise. In less than two weeks, I'm going to be a father.  There, it's out.  If you want to know the whole story, it's a long one, but that's the truth.  Just ask me if you want to know...        The father to be, Mark

So, I just got back from a night so fun that it's even getting an entry on xanga.     I went to a new youth group last night, at the Family Worship Center, and I wasn't expecting that much. I met up with the people that invited me, went in, got introduced to a few more people, and after burning some time 7:00 rolled around and we got started on the worship.  The lights went down, people quieted down, and it started off with this short little movie wich was interesting, but nothing too special. Then there was singing and worship, and the new-comers were taken off for a quick intro/welcome before being brought back to the worship, with a small church band, big projection screens, and the typical modern church youth group set-up.  It was nice, and I liked it, but I didn't fully realize how special the night was. Then we got into the service stuff, and I started getting interested.  There was a game, tag-team air-plane contest, where each partner could only use one hand, and it was fun. Then the real speech started.  It covered friendship, at first.  And had a hilarious skit-like set-up showing how you should be friendly to people, how not to, and how to over-due it. And I won't go into all the details, because you just had to be there, but it was great.  And then talked about how one little compliment can change a person's life, and how someone he once new had a whole few horrible months, and he went to youth and stayed in the back and didn't get noticed, and long story short, he went home, talked to his mom, she convinces him to go back once more and the whole youth group is orgnaized to say hello and take him in without being told his background, and then everything gets better and he went from being suicidal and seriously ready to kill himself to growing up, getting married, and raising a wonderful family and living a happy life.  And then he showed us the movie on the free hugs movement, wich if you're not knowledgable about this, you can google it easily enough and it'll come right up, and you should watch it.  It's really touching...  And the sermon just got better.  And by the end of the night, something amazing happened, wich I can't really say here, because it's something that's a miracle to me and just lifted me up and enlightened me, and it may well have changed my life...  And it made me realize that I've got some amazing people in my life, and that if I really try, and it enforced something that's been on my mind lately already and really made me wonder why it was there before, but it's made me truly belive that I can make a difference like I want to in life.  That I can make someone's life better, and that I can truly make the entire world a better place, because the power is right here in me, in my heart, and smile, and voice...  And if you've read all of this, then maybe you can join in this revelation that if we use kind words, and believe in our goals, then whether it be simply to win a game or to end world hunger, or even to completely stamp out racism, we can do anything...  And I've one person to thank for the chance of a lifetime in leading me to believing all of this, and the whole of the FWC Youth group for leading me into this.  So go out there, make a difference, and if you were really inspired by my words, just send me a message, or come talk to me in school, or anything at all that you can do to contact me, and you too can help me make a difference, or sign the pledge I made to help yourself make the world a better place.... You're not drunk until you have to grab onto the grass to keep from falling off the Earth...

So, it's been a while since I've updated.  But you'll have to wait a little longer for a whole one.  I just recently finished my new layout, though it may need tweeking and a little bit of music to make it more interesting.  Chores and A.P.U.S.H work to do, but I'll try to update more after that.  Until then, c/2Lt Thomas, signing out

Thought for the day: Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

My layout finally crapped out on me.  Lots of people were having problems with it and weren't able to comment, so I'm going to have to make a new one. It may take a day or two, but I'll try to make something nice.  Today was the first day of school  It was okay, but not all that interesting.  I'm sure it'll be better Monday when I get to see the rest of my friends and work on some schedule changes that need to be made.  This year's schedule is going to be rough, especially with things like AP Calculus and Physics Honors.  But, I'll manage, and I hope you all have a great school year, as well.  That's all for now. c/ 2LT Thomas, signing out

Once in a blue moon,
you find yourself in the middle of a crowd,
and even surrounded by so many people,
you know that you're all alone....
